Summer is over…in a day.

Once again the time has come (for the second time this summer) to pack my bags and try to get off this island. I must say its going to be sad and i will be sad to leave. There will be things i wont miss of course like non-english speakers, crazy drivers, high Yen rates, etc. But im going to miss a lot of things like seeing my parents everyday, hanging out with my little brother, sleeping in, not working, casa de taco’s taco rice, being driven around everywhere (yes even though i had my license to drive here…i still didnt haha), and well…im only human so this next thing im going to miss shouldnt be a shock….and that would be the many many manyyyy marines over here. (the ones my age of course!). There is nothing like seeing a bunch of guys lookin’ extra fresh in their uniforms, all ironed, and marine-like. haha. definitely gonna miss the eye candy for sure. lol. (dont judge me lol) we dont have any of that at school :( But most importantly, i really am gonna miss my family :( but i’ll see them in december so thats not too far away!

so i guess things are already kicking off back at school. Freshies move into dorms today! oh how i remember the day moving into 9k’s my freshman yr. (and how i dont miss at all! dont ask). Im looking forward to meeting the class of 13. I know a lot of us are hoping theyre a lot better than class of 12 (no offense to some of my friends lol) but 12 was a crazy group of kids, and so far what we’ve seen on tours and stuff, 13 should be pretty calm…haha.

Lion Ambassadors are already getting back into the swing of things. Exec Board & Committee Chair meeting is scheduled for this monday @ noon. and well…i’ll be on an airplane then so looks like im missing that. :( and yeah obviously im missing my first day of classes too :( way to make a good first impression right? haha. cant help it. United Airlines suckssss. it was either fly back on monday or “sometime in september” (yeah theyre words exactly). So uhh…yeah i think its okay to miss one day.

Im super excited to get back to PA. I’ve missed it…kinda? haha. i mean its nice being on an island all summer but…i mean, no neato burrito here…and i just cant stand not having Neato for more than 2 weeks. lol. And i miss driving on the “right” side of the road. But thats it. oh and i miss my friends duh! but yeah…if PSH could come to this island, that would make my life. but…haha duh thats not ever gonna happen.

OMG almost forgot, i got my tickets for Perez Hilton Presents…concert. its gonna be amazing! Spet 13th in Philly!!! Cant wait! im really going to see FrankMusik whom i luv luv luv! and hopefully…i’ll meet FrankMusik aka Vincent Frank. We’re facebook friends (legit. his real facebook). So if i meet him, we’ll be like real life friends haha. i kid i kid but you never know!?!

Anyways gotta get to sleep. 230am here and i need my rest for my last full day here in Japan.

summer….over in 15

Hey everyone!!

So summer has been a whole lot of things!

fun, amazing, interesting, eventful, exhausting, new, old, helpful, etc….

As some may know, i’ve been in Japan since May 11th! and then when i was suppose to go  home in July i decided that i just couldnt leave my family so i extended my trip to this past thursday….which then caused me to extend again to the 24th. Yeah, bad weather = canceled flight!

But lets back up. to the beginning.

So i left PA and headed half way around the world to Okinawa, Japan.  the traveling was kinda exhausting but fun also.  One word of advice, when you go to an airport and plan on getting food, be sure to have several forms of payment on hand. I made the mistake of just carrying my debit card and when i went to Wendys at the Wash. Dullas airport, they werent taking cards and failed to mention that until i was at the registar, so i had to get out of line (which i waited in for 20 mins) and go find an ATM which was its own journey to the other side of the terminal. SO ANNOYING!  anyways, so yeah i flew from Harrisburg to DC to Tokyo then to Okinawa. fun stuff. long day or days? idk how long it took. haha. It was really funny when i got to Tokyo i saw this girl i saw in at the Hbg airport and i realized that it was Cynthia from school. SMALL WORLD! haha we were on the same flights from HBG to DC to TOKYO! and we didnt even realize. crazy!

Anyways, so yeah ive been on Okinawa since May 12th. Its been fun and definitely relaxing. No work, no school = awesome! haha. Sleeping in has been nice. My mom says i making up for the sleep i dont get all year at school…i think shes right.  So yeah ive just been “chillin’ ” the whole summer. we’ve been to the beach several times but its not really my thing.?? i know call me crazy but sometimes sand gets annoying. haha. Omg something else i love about Japan is….that i can gamble! haha. slot machines are amazing! i have to admit that my parents have had to cut me off several times. haha. crazyness! Something i like doing here to is shopping! even though its kinda expensive :/ but the fashions are different im trying to stalk up on some good stuff. Something else pretty interesting to tell is that i got my drivers license so i can drive over here. the test was wayyy too easy. lol. But i will say, i dont drive much because i have no idea where im going it all looks the same! and for some reason driving on the “wrong” side of the road is weird. haha. We went to Tokyo in June. it was really cool. I think Tokyo is just a way more confusing version of NYC. but its still fun. Everyone drives expensive cars! i dont think ive ever seen so many porsches or lamburginis inmy life! ridiculous! haha. Umm what else? Oh we went to Tokyo Disneyland! it was really nice and its just like Disneyland in California. We also hit up Disney Sea which is a disney theme park focused on Sea Ports. really interesting and fun. Something to check out if you ever hit up Tokyo!

So yeah thats been pretty much it. Just hanging out spending time with the family. I made a friend or two ??? guys…yeah haha. theyre pretty chill. Around my age…Marines. haha enough said. You know i realized that the guys and girls around here who are my age and in the Military are sooo much more mature than many of the kids back home at school.  No offense. lol. But its true, i think its because the “kids” here are actually working and having to make some pretty tough adult  decisions for themselves. Its kinda refreshing to be around it.

Summer Update [number 1!]

Sorry for the lack of updates in the past month or so. The end of the semester proved to be difficult :( With finals, end of the year stuff for LAmb, work and trying to get ready for my trip home to Japan, everything  just piled on and i didnt have time to update :(

Well here goes a little update…

The semester ended rather well for me. My grades improved [thank goodness!] and as far as school goes, thats it. haha. I finished up my last couple weeks of work before vacation which of course was fun since i love working w/my fav. ladies & guy haha. I miss the store so much!! its weird not having a job to go to right now…

Currently im in Okinawa Japan visiting my mom, dad and little brother. Ive been here since May 11th and i have about one more month to go. The weather is beautiful. I hear back in PA things are chilly & icey??? weird its June!! So im definitely soaking up the sun here. I dont know anyone here really so im suffering from a lack of social life :(  I spend my days relaxing and catching up on the sleep i never got during the past two semesters :) Lately, i’ve been going to work with my mom and hanging out in her office. Its fun for the most part. Ive gotten to do some shopping which is nice!! the fashion here is interesting, and im definitely taking notes. haha.

I must say i do miss PSH haha. Its weird not having something to do or people to go see. Since my mom works for the University of Maryland University College – Asia over here, im hearing all about students, registration, book buying, class schedules, and im like “hey! i do that too!…just not during the summer haha”.  I kinda wish i was though. JUST KIDDING! i like having my summers!

anyways its time i finish this up. I’ve got some things to think of and do for LAmb!

Bestest Friends 4 ever!

So this past weekend was just amazing.

On wednesday my best friend Shanna came to visit me! We havent seen each other in FIVE YEARS! but we’ve kept in touch like best friends are suppose to and finally time was on our side. Thursday, me & shanna went to Six Flags of America to enjoy some rides and…see…MENUDO live! They were amazing! and of course, due to my cunning celeb intellect, we got VIP seating and we got to meet them! They all gave me hugs and well, carlos, yeah he kissed me! ahhh! Of course, it was a little odd being surrounded by 12-16 year olds, me and shanna were definitely the oldest girls there in the crowd. haha. But yeah, we had tons of fun, and those boys are just soo sweet. [its the latin in them hhaha].

Friday was my friend leeroys birthday! We made him a cake which was amazing! and we decorated and had balloons and party hats, etc. What a fun time. Nothing like getting all your close friends together for a good ol’fashion birthday party.

Saturday, me & shanna, & Vanessa just chilled out. Had some subway, watched YouTube, etc.

Sunday, me shanna & vanessa went to Baltimore and after getting lost, we finally made it to the Inner Harbor. [thank you GPS system]. We went to Urban Outfitters, played around with the hats & scarves then we hit up Barnes & Nobles for some reading. haha, seriously we stayed there for like 2 hours just reading books. We walked around B-more for a little bit longer then we took Shanna home. *sad face*.

So yeah that was my fun weekend. Unfortunately, fun comes at a price, i am now stuck in bed with some terrible flu-like-strep throat-like-virus. sucks!

but to make my life a bit better….i found out that MENUDO is coming to KISS FM Harrisburg Aug 19th!!! and im gonna do everything i can to meet them there or something. I need a picture with them. lol!!

Ok, well im off to try and get better!

HEY EVERYONE! SO AGAIN I SUCK AT UPDATING! BUT!….SUMMER HAS JUST BEEN REALLY CRAZY & FUN & NOW…i have time to write.

 

So like i said Summer has been crazy-fun! I’m back from Vacation and I’m super glad to be home!! I’ve been spending time with My Favs<3 here at home and just enjoying time off from work. I go back to work next week which is good, cuz just like every college kid and some others, i’m always low on cash!

Vanessa and I have been talking about Lion Ambassador things for next fall, and im super excited about what the exec board is doing, and what Vanessa has planned for returning member and new members! *incoming freshmen – look out for info on Lion Ambassadors!*

Ok so enough school related stuff.

One thing i luv about summer is the new music coming out and everyone finding a summer anthem. Well i dont know about you all but i luvvvvv Katy Perry! I found out about her wayyyy before she hit the radio this past month and well obviously now shes HUGE! Her single “I kissed A Girl” is so fun. (yes i know some people wont agree with its topic but aside from the words, the song is pretty fun to dance to and have fun). I listened to her whole cd before i bought it, and wow its awesome! Shes the next Lily Allen or Amy Whinehouse. And even better shes good friends with one of my friends, Perez Hilton. (whom ive only met once in NYC but haha hes famous so im calling him my friend for the heck of it! i did get pictures!). So yeah, you all should check her out!

So i know its been forever…

and i apologizes!

Anyways….

Im currently on vacation..well at the end of it. I left PA and headed out to a little place called “El Paso, Texas” where i was born and where most of my extended family lives. Of course being the jet setter i am, i had to look cute and trendy, well let me tell you, cute & trendy do nothing for you if you’re sweating bullets in 100deg. weather. Lesson learned!

So i spent about a week in El Paso, and wow was i kinda bored. I mean it was nice to see family but that place is not my kind of city. And honestly the heat was just too much! I finally got to have some fun when my cousin Jesse saved me from “land of parents, uncles, aunts, etc” and took me to his friend’s aptartment to hangout with some people my own age. Of course, being summer n’ all i did manage to find a cute guy in the room. haha. He was very nice and he was the only one to actually say “goodbye & nice to meet you” when he left. Later i would find out that he’s a family friend of my cousins and now…my mom is on a mission to get the scoop! haha. oh geez. But hello! what is summer without a little crush??? (im currently looking forward to either going back to Texas to hangout with my cousin or have him visit me…of course, i said he could bring his friends…mainly the cute one haha)

After a week in Texas, my family and i head out to my 2nd home of San Diego, California! Thankfully the weather was perfect as always. We went to Sea World where i got drenched on the “Journey to Atlantis” ride (big boat + water slide = water everywhere). I saw Shamu! (one of many fyi) and i began work on my tan.

We left SD, CA for ANAHIEM, CA which is home to Disneyland & Knotts Berry Farms (yes as in Knotts Jam).

Disneyland was awesome as always! the driver for the boat on the “Jungle Cruise” was cute! haha. I saw “Jack Sparrow” roaming New Orleans Square.  I took pictures of my house “Sleeping Beauty’s Castle” which im just letting disney borrow for a couple years. lol.  I beat my mom at the “Buzz Lightyear Star Command” ride/game. I took a picture with Mickey mouse!! & I watched “80z All Starz” which was a band of course who played all 80s hits in Tomorrowland. lol.

Today i went to Knotts Berry Farms. not a good day due to a major Heat Wave in CA. I just about died waiting in every single line. My tan is official now. lol. I went on a new ride called “Pony Express” which is a super fast rollercoaster-type ride in which riders get onto a horse (the seat), hold onto handles by the fake horses ears and then a safety back thing is put up to keep from flying off. So basically i was riding a fake-horse and its a roller coaster…idk how to explain it. I’ll find a picture sometime to show off. But yeah that was fun. Other than the heat, my day was fun. Oh especially when i got MAJOR attitude from two little high school girls who got mad at me for calling them out on cutting people in line. Yeah its kinda stupid to call me a rude name cuz well, you get twice as much from me right back…plus, my mom was with me…and well of course she had to defend her daughter. Yeah so take a hint! DONT CUT IN LINE!

Now, im currently sitting in my holiday inn express hotel room enjoying free internet access. Im dead tired and cannot wait to head back to San Diego tomorrow!!
